Welcome to Deadwood... Deadwood is a historical roleplay sim set in 1876 during the gold rush in the Black Hills of South Dakota.
Please read and follow these rules when you enter.
Top 10 Rules:
I. Only human AV's allowed in sim.
II. Only the Road to Deadwood group is allowed in sim.
III. Deadwood roleplaymeter is required wear it all times in sim.
IV. Combat can only be initiated through good roleplay.
V. 1800' attire is required wear, no flashy or modern wear allowed.
VI. Private encounters of 'intimate' nature is to remain in IM. Any active bodyparts that chat are to be turned off. Age-play is strictly prohibited.
VII. Native AV's are not allowed in the towns unless they are 'civilised' (sufficiently westernized).
VIII. No griefing, harrassment, jumping, flying, leaping, or any other action that deters good roleplay in sim.
IX. No lag intensive active scripts, IE: (Radars, Listeners, etc.)
X. No OOC in open chat, keep all OOC in IM...

Detailed information about the top 10 rules:
I. The Road to Deadwood group tag is required wear if you want to roleplay in sim.
You will be able to set your title through the Deadwood roleplay meter. No offensive names, tags, titles... To achive some realism here in this RP environment, please choose a fitting name for the time period, and refrain from offensive names, tags and titles...
II. Deadwood roleplay meter required wear at all times in sim.
The Deadwood meter is designed to take damage and monitor your energy and food intake. It is required wear at all times. As long as you are in the sim it cannot be removed for any reason...
If you remove your meter during combat you will be considered violating rules and will be removed from the group. If you get damaged enough to drop on the ground unconscious, you must wait for your own healing timer to bring you back up or a doctor to get to you to advance your health...
The timer on the meter is set for 3 minutes after which time the doctor can begin to heal you or you can wait for your meter to allow you to return to normal health.
III. Only human avatars allowed in this sim.
As this is a strictly historical roleplay context, no Furries, Nekos, Vampires, animal avatars or anything other than human avatars are allowed. Child avatars are welcome but they must not engage in any sexual activity.
IV. 1800's attire is required wear in sim. No flashy or modern wear allowed.
Dress appropriately for the 1870's environment. There is free clothing available in the entry area for you to change into before you enter the town of Deadwood.
V. Combat can only be initiated through roleplay.
This is first and foremost a roleplay sim, not a combat sim. If you play a character that tends towards violence, you are expected to roleplay your intentions and activities. Players that go around shooting everyone without sufficient roleplay interaction will be considered griefers and will be ejected from the sim.
VI. Private encounters of "intimate" nature are to remain in IM's. Any active body parts that chat are to be turned off.
This sim is a mature roleplay sim. It is mature because of the kinds of roleplay in a rugged old west town environment. Sexual encounters will be conducted in IM's only. Any sexual body parts that have open chat must be turned off. If folks can hear you performing, you won't stay long.
Players with child avatars are strongly requested to remove themselves immediately from any scene involving sexual interactions. Players with adult characters, please refrain from using sexual gestures, animations, emotes, or chat while there is a child avatar present. Refer to Linden Labs age-play guidelines for more information.
VII. Native avatars are not allowed in the towns, unless they are "civilized" (sufficiently Westernized).
In this time period, Native Lakota Sioux in the Black Hills are currently being surpressed by the US Army. Any Sioux or other native race that shows up in traditional wear were considered hostile and were attacked on sight by anyone in the town.
Please understand, we want to maintain the integrity of the roleplay. The Sioux Nation historically never would have come to Deadwood. Over 10,000 settlers poured into the Hills in three months to search for gold, the Sioux avoided this and only attacked outlying settlements.
There is only one exception. "Civilized" Indians who have decided to live amongst the folks in town may join in the roleplay. Civilized refers to following the behavior, dress and language of the local setting. Those who choose to play this character can use hats, vests, pants and boots as well as relinquishing the native tongue to fit in.
VIII. Griefing or Harrassment will not be tolerated.
Griefing/Harrassment will be defined as any action taken that intentionally interferes with the rules, theme, or the flow of RP in the sim. This also includes those actions that violate the TOS, consult the SL policy definitions of Griefing and Griefers. An Abuse Report will be sent to Linden labs.
Griefers will be banned immediately from the sim, Admins are not required to give reasons as this is a private sim. Any further harrassment in IM's or otherwise to Admins or others after banning will result in another abuse report filed.
Banning, Permanent Banning, and Group Removal
Most infractions will be dealt with by removing the offender from the Deadwood player group... Removal from the group will stop the individual from being able to participate in any activity which would require scripts to run or objects to be created, IE: firing a gun... Repeated offences will be handled by temporarily banning the offender. The ban will last for one month. After the ban period, the offender can request reentry. However, further repeated offences will result in a permanent ban and possible harrassment/griefer report filed with the Lindens.
If you are rude, beligerent, inconsiderate, hostile or otherwise ignore our Admins when they request you make a change, expect to be banned... I will not tolerate any harrassment of the staff present here... They are here to help manage, care for, run and otherwise help to keep a smooth flowing and enjoyable RP experience here... They will help you if you listen to them and are polite, so if they ask you to make a change, please listen and do as they ask, if you don't want to, you can just leave.
