But you're so far away
Doesn't anybody stay in one place anymore
It would be so fine to see your face at my door
Doesn't help to know you're so far away

Travelin' around sure gets me down and lonely
Nothin' else to do but close my mind
I sure hope the road don't come to own m

I was born in Ireland, but I am American

Donald O'Harra was born the son of a Prostitute.  Abandoned at a Catholic Orphanage, the young Donald grew under the eyes of a troupe of abusive Nuns.  The only thing they managed to put into Donald was a deep belief in god and the Catholic Church.  As soon as he could though, Donald hopped a boat to America due to false information that his father had gone there.

Donald was met by the Union Draft Officers in New York City.  He didn't even get to know the country that he was about to go die for.  He was assigned to the "Fighting 69th" or "Fighting Irish" as the rest of the Union called them, and fought with them until the Battle of Fredericksburg.  Donald received a bayonet wound to the shoulder, and was captured.  He spent 2 years of the war in the infamous Confederate POW prison Camp Sumter, or The Andersonville Prison.  He nearly starved to death.  He was eventually part of a massive Prisoner Exchange, which ultimately saved his life.

In 1866 Donald became a US Cavalry Scout, and in this job he would receive his most distinguishing feature.  On June 27, 1874 at The Second Battle of Adobe Walls, Donald locked blades with an Comanche Warrior.  Donald with a Hunting Knife, and the Comanche with his Tomahawk.  A strike raked across his face, cutting his left eye in the process.  His comrades found Donald Passed out from Blood Loss on top the dead Comanche who had been as his fellow Scouts put it "butchered."

Donald left the Scouts in December of 1875.  He spent the following months preparing for an expedition into the town of Deadwood, and the gold filled hills around it.  After finding gold he bought out the empty "Progressive Hall Saloon," and
began his American Dream finally.  A business owner, a successful prospector, and finally happy... for now.

Character Update:
After loosing the Progressive to a loss in business, Donald sold the hall, sold his claim, and disappeared.  Then, two months later, he has returned looking even more worse for wear.  He's shacked up in a tent not far from his old place of business, where empty Whiskey Bottles litter the inside.  Donald has some money, not a whole lot, but enough to keep drinking at the various spots in town.  He's lost many of his morals it seems and for good reason.  Donald is one of the men responsible for the increase in stagecoach robberies and hold ups between Deadwood and Fort Laramie.  He's even robbed a few prospectors on their own claims.  Donald will tell most folks that his long trips out of town are to visit his new claim in the hills, but this is ultimately false.  He's become a Road Agent, robbing folks out of their own earnings, and then drinking them away.
