But you're so far away
Doesn't anybody stay in one place anymore
It would be so fine to see your face at my door
Doesn't help to know you're so far away

Travelin' around sure gets me down and lonely
Nothin' else to do but close my mind
I sure hope the road don't come to own m

You are always welcome to consider writing something for the sim newspaper to promote, cause trouble for, or otherwise affect your character or others' character. My sched has been irregular lately so I wanted to share our calendar. Like our predecessors of the 19th century, we welcome pretty much anything - poems, letters, opinions, pictures, ramblings, display ads, etc...

Among the topics that would have come up IRL are the Custer massacre, the crowding of the town (Deadwood was at peak population about now) and all the habits of the day.

Here's our sched for the next three weeks. Obviously I don't know what we will all be cooking up together in terms of stories, but since Wild Bill is a key historical figure, I mention him.

It helps me a lot if you send submissions to blackhillspioneer@gmail.com but if you want to work within the sim or SL or this site, that's fine too. Just be warned the more you do within SL the greater the odds I'll misplace or lose it. If you want to do something in SL / the sim with roleplay and back it up with an email to the gmail address, that's the gold standard.

Issue Friday July 30, deadline, Wednesday, July 28: This will probably focus on Wyatt's zeal to rename the town Wild Billville. But you write what you want.

Issue Friday Aug. 6, deadline, Aug. 4: Coverage of the assassination of Wild Bill and whatever happens to McCall.

Issue Sunday Aug. 22, deadline Aug 20. The big news here will be the discovery of Preacher Smith's body. Preacher Smith was not portrayed in sim but his life and death are essential to an understanding of August 1876, Deadwood's RL peak, so we're inserting him into the paper Smiley Again, though, you write what you want.
